A Survey Of Malaria Parasites Among Pregnant Women And Children Attending Angwa Jerimai Primary Health Care (PHC), Kokona Local Government Area (LGA) Nasarawa State Nigeria
Aim of the Study
The primary aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of malaria parasites among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai Primary Health Care (PHC) in Kokona Local Government Area (LGA), Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
Objectives of the Study
- To assess the prevalence of malaria parasites among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai Primary Health Care (PHC) in Kokona Local Government Area (LGA), Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
- To investigate the factors associated with malaria infection among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai PHC, including socio-demographic characteristics, antenatal care attendance, and utilization of malaria preventive measures.
- To evaluate the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding malaria prevention and control among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai PHC, with a focus on the use of insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs), intermittent preventive treatment in pregnancy (IPTp), and prompt seeking of healthcare for febrile illness.
- To recommend evidence-based strategies for improving malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services for pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai PHC, with the ultimate goal of reducing the burden of malaria and improving maternal and child health outcomes in the community.
Research Hypothesis
- H0: There is no significant difference in the prevalence of malaria parasites among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai Primary Health Care (PHC) in Kokona Local Government Area (LGA), Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
- H1: There is a significant difference in the prevalence of malaria parasites among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai PHC.
- H0: There is no association between socio-demographic characteristics, antenatal care attendance, and utilization of malaria preventive measures and malaria infection among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai PHC.
- H1: There is an association between socio-demographic characteristics, antenatal care attendance, and utilization of malaria preventive measures and malaria infection among pregnant women attending Angwa Jerimai PHC.
