Sports Degree Programs
- Candidates will be able to seek admission into one of three courses leading to an award of Bachelors degree:
- Sports Science and Technology
- Sports Administration and Management.
- Physical and Health Education
- Candidates seeking admission into any of the Category B degree courses must possess at least five credits from single sitting of West African Examination Council {WAEC) examinations, National Examination Council (NECO), or its equivalent. Such five credits must include English Language and Mathematics. In exceptional cases, the University shall consider five credits from two sittings.
- In addition, candidates seeking admission into the degree programs listed in (a) above must have scored the minimum National cut-off mark in JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination {UTME).

Compulsory Physical Sports / High Performance Training
The High Performance Centre and Sports Leadership Institute (HPC/SLI), the first of its kind, has been set up to influence, support and ensure that talented Nigerian athletes achieve sustained levels of excellence from grassroots to elite sports. The centre supports a broad range of sporting disciplines. For all candidates, a two-week sports talent identification exercise shall be conducted by the HPC of the University.
The HPC shall focus on the following sports:

- Cricket (CKT)
- Football (FTB)

School of Basic Studies
- Applicants who do not fulfil the requisite requirement for entry into the University shall be provided with the opportunity to apply to the School of Basic Studies to pursue foundational programs leading to the award of School of Basic Studies certificate (SBS).
- Sports talented secondary school students may be admitted into the school of Basic Studies to continue their secondary education and have the opportunity of being trained in their preferred sport leading to the award of school leaving certificates (SLC).
