Research Objectives


  1. To isolate ethanolic and methanolic extracts from Boletus edulis specimens collected from the wilds of Keffi, North Central Nigeria.

  2. To determine the phytochemical composition of the ethanolic and methanolic extracts using standard qualitative analysis techniques.

  3. To evaluate the antibacterial activity of the ethanolic and methanolic extracts against a panel of clinically relevant bacterial pathogens, including both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

  4. To assess the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of the ethanolic and methanolic extracts against the selected bacterial strains.
