Objectives of the Study


  1. To produce activated carbon from dom palm biomass through carbonization and activation processes.

  2. To characterize the physical and chemical properties of the produced activated carbon, including surface area, pore size distribution, and surface functional groups.

  3. To evaluate the adsorption performance of the dom palm-based activated carbon for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solutions.

  4. To assess the influence of key parameters such as pH, contact time, initial metal concentration, and adsorbent dosage on the adsorption efficiency of the activated carbon.
