Conclusion

No doubt the aim and objective of this project which is to design and fabricate a machine for shelling corn has been achieved with outstanding performance. It has shelling efficiency of 80% and is quite satisfactory in terms of reliability, durability, serviceability, reparability, maintainability, cost and simplicity of manufacture compactness and portability. It stands, to serve the homes and small scale industrialist.

However, the machine is relatively new design and as such may requires an improvement in general outlook in future especially in the area of serviceability.

Recommendation

Having considered the design process and analysis, it is then paramount and vital to carryout adequate servicing of the bearings after some pre-determined time for long life of the machine.

It is recommendable to clean the machine daily after usage with specially emphasis on the perforated sheet area to remove or dislodge remains of grains and other dirties.

However, it would be recommendable for the department to keep the constructed project in a conducive atmosphere and pleaded that department should support students will at any time decided to embark on money consuming project, and such project should be catered for, guarded by the people involved.

Finally, we crave the indulgence of the department to consider the limitations that were created during our design approach for no man is perfect under the planet earth.
