Design And Construction Of A Bluetooth Speaker Unit
Bluetooth stereo audio system—one that’s also fairly low-cost—for outdoor use. This device provide the easiest way to play music off your smartphone to a speaker unit. The system, which maintains 20-WRMS output power, can be controlled either with a handset containing a Bluetooth connection and a music player or with an Apple iPod model. Bluetooth technology, created in the late 1990s, is widely used to establish a short-range wireless connection between two handheld mobile devices. A Bluetooth setup also makes it possible to transfer a stereo audio signal from a handheld device to a speaker unit . Today’s Bluetooth headsets operate under the Bluetooth Class 2 specification with 2.5-mW (4 dBm) transmission power. A Bluetooth Class 2 module’s transmission range extends to about 10 meters.

1.1 Background Of The Study
Under normal circumstances, speakers need a cable linking them to an audio source (be that cable a pair of speaker cables running to a full blown stereo system with an amp or just a simple 3.5 mm phono cable leading to an iPod). Bluetooth speakers eschew this physical-cable limitation by relying on the same Bluetooth protocol and audio system that underlies Bluetooth wireless cellphone earpieces and in-car Bluetooth speakerphone systems. That’s the most elementary and primary component of any Bluetooth speaker on the market. Beyond that there are dozens of big and small variables that distinguish (or fail to distinguish) different Bluetooth speaker makes and models from one another. Bluetooth speakers are different from Wi-Fi based audio solutions, like the whole-house Sonos system, in several key ways. First, Bluetooth solutions are typically meant to be highly portable whereas whole-house solutions are usually installed permanently or semi-permanently in fixed locations. Second, Bluetooth speakers link directly to their source (usually a phone or tablet) and require no intermediary whereas whole-house solutions require the Wi-Fi network to bridge the source and the devices. This also allows whole-house networks to broadcast the same music stream to multiple and distance speakers, however, a feature impractical for Bluetooth speakers that have a roughly 30 foot range. Finally audio quality is slightly higher on Bluetooth systems than on Wi-Fi systems (all other variables the same) simply because of the nature of the transmission; practically speaking this is a non-consideration; however, as under casual listening conditions the difference would be indiscernible to most.
1.2 Objective Of The Project
A Bluetooth setup also makes it possible to transfer a stereo audio signal from a handheld device to a wireless headset. The objective of this work is to design a system, which maintains 20-WRMS output power, can be controlled either with a handset containing a Bluetooth connection and a music player through a Bluetooth module.
1.3 Significance Of The Project
This system is a convenient way listen to music away from your computer, home stereo system, or car and you want to listen to music that is digitized (be it via streaming or files stored on your phone or tablet) then a Bluetooth speaker is pretty much exactly what you’re looking for: a portable speaker that links wirelessly to your phone.
Bluetooth speakers are great when you want to take music to the beach, out on the back deck beyond the reach of your traditional stereo, or anywhere else you’d traditionally take a portable stereo.
Bluetooth powered home audio solutions that are meant to replace traditional stereo systems, bookshelf speakers, and other audio fixtures. The focus of this buying guide is on portable units that you can easily move around your house, take out to the yard, and beyond.
1.4 Limitation Of The Project
Bluetooth speakers have exploded in popularity, and are the easiest way to play music off your smartphone. The problem is the speakers are usually a bit small and the sound doesn’t quite fill a room. A bluetooth amplifier board connects the speakers and a 24-volt power supply is needed to drive everything. You’ll need a soldering iron and screwdriver to finish the connections.
1.5 Scope Of The Project
Wireless Bluetooth stereo audio system—one that’s also fairly low-cost—for outdoor use. The system, which maintains 20-WRMS output power, can be controlled either with a handset containing a Bluetooth connection and a music player or with an Apple iPod model. This system has:
- 1,000 mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (9hrs Playback)
- Dual 3W (4ohms) 35mm Neodymium Drivers
- High Efficiency 2x3W Amplifier (0.1%THD)
- 15 meter Standard Bluetooth Range
- 3.5mm Auxiliary Ready
- Mini USB Charge Plug
1.6 Application Of The Project
- It is used in various types of high-quality Bluetooth stereo headphones.
- It is used in stereo speakers, stereo.
- All kinds of high-quality wireless Bluetooth stereo audio receiver equipment.
To achieve the aim and objectives of this work, the following are the steps involved:
- Study of the previous work on the project so as to improve it efficiency.
- Draw a block diagram.
- Test for continuity of components and devices,
- Design and calculation for the changeover was carried out.
- Studying of various component used in circuit.
- Construct a changeover circuit.
- Finally, the whole device was cased and final test was carried out.
1.8 Project Organisation
The work is organized as follows:
- Chapter One discuses the introductory part of the work,
- Chapter two presents the literature review of the study,
- Chapter three describes the methods applied,
- Chapter four discusses the results of the work,
- Chapter five summarizes the research outcomes and the recommendations.
Conclusion and Recommendation
At the end of this work a Bluetooth speaker was designed.
The device (Bluetooth speaker unit) has been designed, tested and system was able to respond to its operation. This work was built with quality wiring and contains many connections, I recommend that if failure occur, it should be troubleshoot by a qualify personnel along with the circuits diagram.
Working on this topic (Bluetooth speaker unit) as my project is a good idea and it comes at the right time. I am suggesting that this particular topic should also be given to other students both in higher and lower class.
