Project Abstract
The research was carried out on Abuse and Educational development of the child. A case study of child hawking in Port-Harcourt. The study was aimed at finding out how hawking is a hindrance to the educational development of the children. To carry out survey, five research questions were used. The research made use of documents from the library. An interview guide was used to collect data from one hundred (100) hawkers, which is also the sample used for the study. In the analysis, the research questions were analyzed using percentage. From the data collected and analyzed, the researcher concluded that child hawking is a hindrance to the educational development of the children. Finally, it was recommended that parents and governments should help stop child hawking among children so as to reduce or stop child abuse in Nigeria
