The main objective of the study is to appraise the impact of the government in housing provision for its citizen

Hence, the study will be channeled to the following specific objectives;

1. To identify housing problems in urban areas of Nigeria
2. To examine some of the government housing policies and programmes for solving housing problems
3. To identify the limitation of the housing policies and programmes
4. To make appropriate recommendation
